Matthew Kaplan, research specialist for the DNA Shoah Project, covers recent research findings from studies of Jewish genetics and Jewish population history. He will review the basic principles of human genetics and the biology behind DNA testing, explaining how DNA testing is performed and how samples are processed in the  Human Origins Genotyping Laboratory at the University of Arizona. This lecture will also include an overview of the forensic technology used by the DNA Shoah Project. Following the lecture there will be an open question session.
